The NextGen Energy Innovators Challenge is a structured innovation program where participants solve pressing fuel and forecourt technology problems using data, software, and systems engineering.
It is organized through a university-industry collaboration model that brings together academic leaders, sector practitioners, and technical mentors to ensure each theme reflects real operational needs.
The purpose is to develop scalable, implementable solutions that improve monitoring, safety, efficiency, and customer experience across modern energy infrastructure.

01
Build systems that provide real-time fleet visibility, route intelligence, and safety alerts for fuel movement.
02
Re-engineer legacy manual pumps with sensors and control logic to extend usability and improve measurement quality.
03
Design integrated tools for forecourt operations, performance dashboards, and preventive operational oversight.
04
Enable continuous tank health tracking with leak detection, predictive maintenance, and automated reporting.
05
Apply AI to understand customer and vehicle flow patterns for better safety, throughput, and decision-making.
06
Create user-facing products that improve access to fuel services, transactions, and service communication.
Each challenge team must satisfy the participant structure below before submission.
